Specisoft S.A. co-founder of “Smart Agro Hub S.A.”

On Thursday 2 December 2021 the Chairman and Managing Director of Specisoft S.A., Theoklis Vasileiadis, signed the company’s participation in the share capital of Smart Agro Hub S.A., then being established, in cooperation with the Agricultural University of Athens and other companies specialising in the primary sector. Theoklis Vasileiadis is also a member of the Board of Directors of the newly established company.

The aim of the new body is to create a Competence Center for digital technologies in agriculture. The shareholders of Smart Agro Hub S.A. are the Agricultural University of Athens, Specisoft and the other companies that jointly submitted the proposal to the “COMPETENCE CENTERS” programme of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, which was approved. The purpose of the new company is to operate as a place for testing, evaluating and improving relevant technologies by companies of the agri-food sector and companies related to smart technologies (Living Lab), to provide services and develop products and related technologies in the field of smart technologies in agriculture, and to develop and retain highly specialised staff through suitable training and experience. At the same time it aims to provide advice, coordination, guidance and training to other companies and organisations, to act as a point of contact and representation for companies in meetings between private and public bodies at national and international level, and to act as a leader in innovation in Smart Agriculture & New Technologies.

For Specisoft S.A., participation in Smart Agro Hub S.A. is one more step in the further widening of its role and activities.
